Day 1: Midtown Madness and Times Square Glow
Land in NYC and head to Midtown. Drop bags, grab a bagel with cream cheese from a corner deli, and dive into Times Square. It’s chaotic with neon signs and street performers, best at dusk when it lights up. Wander to Rockefeller Center, check the skating rink if it’s winter or just admire the art deco. Dinner at a nearby pizza joint, thin crust, fold it to eat like a local. If jet lag’s light, catch a view from Top of the Rock, city skyline’s unreal from there.
Times Square’s nuts, don’t stop in the middle for pics, keep moving.
Day 2: Central Park and Museum Mile
Start with a morning stroll in Central Park. Hit Bethesda Terrace, maybe rent a bike to cover more ground, sheep meadow’s chill for a breather. Head to the Met Museum on Fifth Avenue, it’s massive, so pick a wing, like Egyptian or European paintings. Lunch at a food truck, falafel or hot dogs. Afternoon, explore more of Museum Mile, maybe the Guggenheim for its spiral vibes. Evening, grab dinner in the Upper West Side, cozy diners or Italian spots. If it’s summer, check for free park concerts.

Day 3: Downtown and Statue of Liberty
Head downtown to Battery Park and catch a ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Book early for crown access, or just do the island. Ellis Island’s museum is next, super moving with immigrant stories. Back on Manhattan, walk to the 9/11 Memorial, those pools hit hard. Lunch in Tribeca, trendy but not overpriced. Afternoon, roam the Financial District, see Wall Street’s bull statue. Dinner in Chinatown, dim sum or noodles, cheap and tasty. If you’re up for it, walk the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset, views are epic.
Ferry lines suck, go early to beat crowds.
Day 4: Brooklyn Deep Dive
Cross to Brooklyn for a full day. Start in DUMBO, Instagram that spot between buildings with the bridge framed. Wander Brooklyn Heights, old brownstones and waterfront promenade. Lunch at a BBQ joint or food market like Smorgasburg if it’s open, seasonal thing. Afternoon, hit Williamsburg for street art, indie shops, and coffee spots with too-cool baristas. Evening, catch a rooftop bar in Williamsburg, skyline views back at Manhattan. Or, chill in Prospect Park, Brooklyn’s answer to Central Park.

Day 5: Broadway and West Village Charm
Morning in the West Village, cobblestone streets and cute cafes. Grab brunch, avocado toast or pancakes, it’s that vibe. Walk to Washington Square Park, always some musician or chess game going. Afternoon, book a Broadway matinee, musicals are king but dramas hit too, check for discounts at TKTS booth. Post-show, dinner in Hell’s Kitchen, tons of global eats, Thai or Ethiopian maybe. If you’re still buzzing, hit a jazz bar in Greenwich Village, small venues feel intimate.

Day 6: Harlem and Uptown Vibes
Head up to Harlem for history and soul. Start at the Apollo Theater, catch a tour if they’re running. Walk 125th Street, feel the neighborhood’s pulse, maybe pop into a gospel church if it’s Sunday. Lunch at a soul food spot, think fried chicken or collard greens. Afternoon, visit the Schomburg Center for Black culture exhibits. Then subway to the Cloisters in Inwood, medieval art in a monastery-like setting, feels like Europe. Dinner uptown, maybe Caribbean or BBQ.

Day 7: Coney Island or Chill Wrap-Up
If weather’s good, train to Coney Island for a fun last day. Ride the Cyclone rollercoaster, stroll the boardwalk, munch a hot dog at a classic stand. Beach is chill even if you don’t swim. Back in Manhattan, hit any missed spots, like the High Line, an elevated park with cool views. Or shop in SoHo, boutiques and street vendors. Final dinner at a food hall, pick your cuisine, tacos to ramen. End with a nightcap at a speakeasy, ask locals for hidden ones.
Coney’s a trek, skip if you’re beat and just roam Manhattan.
